Song suggestions for musical theater audition?

Question

I'm auditioning for the part of Dorothy in Thoroughly Modern Millie. I wanted to do a Gilbert and Sullivan song or Herbert's "Art is Calling For Me" but my voice teacher told me that I should do something more broadway-ish and somthing that matches the character. So any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm a soprano with a range from the G below middle C to D6. thanks:)
