Question:

Song to walk down the aisle, i need your suggestions!

I am getting married in September, and i need your input on the song i'd be walking down the aisle to. My Fiance and I are pretty quirky, and we are trying to have a "not-so-traditional" wedding, yet still elegant and full of emotions.

We already have our wedding song, and the song our wedding party will walk down the aisle to.

But i am still unsure about mine.

My parents (for reasons i do not wish to get into right here) will not be able to attend the wedding, and as i do not feel comfortable walking with my future father in law (don't give me wrong, he is a sweetheart, but i just feel it's just not his "role" to "give me away"), i will walk by myself.

I wanted to find a song that explains how much my fiance and future husband means to me, but also at the same time trying to find something quirky, Something that would fit my personality.

I less than enjoy the usual, mushy "generic" and over-used love songs ("from this moment", "you're my best friend", "at last" and such)

Just a little while ago, i actually found "the way i am" by Ingrid Michaelson, and i really like it.

(you can listen to some of it here: http://www.amazon.com/Girls-Boys-Ingrid-Michaelson/dp/B000VBIGMM/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1217560568&sr=8-1 )

I was thinking about having my bridesmaids clap along with the song... Just an idea...

so... what do you think? good song? too silly? any other recommendations?

help!

...and thanks!!!

maybe not lol idk i just love that song. good luck and congratulations

  2. i think that is a great idea for non traditional, walking slow might be quite challenging though

  3. My Romance- Micheal finestien

    Stardust

  4. take a look at this site, where it has videos/lyrics of the wedding songs and you can choose from first dance,country,march-in and others at this site http://365weddingsongs.com

  5. http://www.ourweddingsongs.com/

This website has a ton of wedding songs!

  6. I used an instrumental version of a Norah Jones song for the parents and wedding part in the procession, and I walked out to "Come Away With Me" by Norah Jones.  I love it and it's great for an outdoor wedding.  My sister-in-law used "You've Got A Way With Me" by Shania Twain.  She is not a Twain lover, but the song is gorgeous and if you're walking by yourself it's a perfect message to send your fiance while you're walking towards him down the aisle.

  7. I'm Yours by Jason Mraz

I probably wouldn't do the clapping either but that song should be fine!
