Question:

Song to walk down the aisle to? Pachelbel's vs. Shania Twain?

Its a toss up between Pachelbel's Cannon in D and "From this Moment" by Shania Twain (which is a BEAUTIFUL song).

I know basically everyone does pachelbels, but I'm wondering if shania is too lovey dovey?

What do you think?

  1. Pachelbels for sure!!! It is classic while Shania Twain is super cheesey and way too lovey dovey!

  2. no Shania, stick with the classics

  3. I love Pachelbels Canon in D for walking down the aisle.

My daughter and son-in-law had "From this Moment" as their first dance.  You might want to consider that as an option.

  4. I think Shania Twain that songs so cutee and it's different.  I like it!

  5. Go with what you like. I personally think pachelbel is extremely overused.

  6. Pachelbel.  You won't regret it later.

  7. Use Pachelbel for the cerem

  8. pachelbel's cannon in d is what I used

  9. While I think Canon in D is overused, I prefer that anyday over Shania Twain. Which do *you* prefer, since it is your wedding, not anyone else's?

  10. Pachabel's Canon in D (sp) and "From This Moment" are both great. I love them both. Maybe one for walking down the aisle and the other for walking out of the church. Who cares if it's cheesy? It says exactly how I feel about marrying my husband. Congrats.

  11. oh don't go with the shania song.  Unless it was some really special meaning to you both stay away from it, I am so sick of hearing it at weddings, everyone is using it and it really will be so annoying for any of your guests to hear if they attend a fair amount of weddings.

I love the idea of walking down the isle to something different but "from this moment on" is just far too overdone.

    Good luck! congrats!

  12. Although I'm already married we just got married in the court house.  We are however going to renew our vows and have an actual ceremony for the family.  My wife will have no other song than Pachelbel's.  So what if every one else uses it.  What if you use Pachelbel's to walk down the aisle and Shania's at the reception.

  13. VERY tough choice. I'm using nontraditional wedding music, so I'd probably have to go with Shania. BUT you might want to check with your church (if you're getting married in one), and make sure that they'll allow you to use it. Alot of churches only let you use sacred music versus secular. That might just answer your question for you.

  14. Pachelbel is great....

may I also sugguest a song..  this is one I am using in the wedding.. but it would also make a great song to walk down to..

    Heavenly Day by Patty Griffin

  15. Do Pachabells for the walk down and Shaina for the walk back after the ceremony!

  16. Elegance will stand the test of time vs. pop.

Don't make choices for your wedding that in 5-10 years you're smacking yourself in the head over.

    Pachelbel's  Cannon in D

  17. I'm a traditionalist, so I think Shania Twain is too lovey dovey and too inappropriate for walking down the aisle. How about for your first and last dance, though, at the wedding reception? That's a great way to still use it, but also be classy and appropriate. I like that song also, by the way.

  18. eh....what about "the wedding song" by kenny g?

  19. I would stick with Pachelbel. From this Moment is pretty, but kind of cheesy. Maybe play it at the reception or play in before the ceremony starts when the guests are getting seated.

But it is your wedding and you can do whatever you want!

    Congrats!
