Song writing for a bad musician?

I have written a few songs but I do not play an instrument very well. A little rhythm guitar. Is there any good software which will allow me to import drum patterns piano chords, strings etc. I have tried cubase but I feel it is more suitable for me to edit ready made tracks. Im simply not a good enough musician to build a sample of the songs I keep in my head...any ideas

  1. If you've got a Mac, then go for garage band to get ya started.  Windows, try Mixcraft, it's got a free trial that gives you the full version for a week.  I'm not familiar with too many other programs for this sort of thing.

  2. Sonar's great... Live's great and easy to learn. {You ought to, at least, build your own samples and loops.}

  3. Don't rely on stupid programs like that...PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!!

    Please...don't be foolish.
