Song writing; lyrics first, music first?

Question

in general i use music first, and it is sposed to get the best songs...

but most big hit songs are written lyrics first weirdly enough... what do you think?

I write music myself and its easier for me to write the lyrics first because then you can create the music along with the music. if you write the music first then you are pretty restricted in the words which sometimes can be hard if you have "writers" block lyrics style.
