Songkhla vietnamese refugee camp?

Hello,

I've made postings in the past about wanting to learn more about the Songkhla refugee camp. I've gotten in touch w/ and handful of people that has passed through that camp. I've also learned that in the early 80's they've mowed down the camp. I think I remember seeing that it is now a resort.

My question is is that does anyone know if this campsite has turned into a vacation resort? If so, what's the name of the resort. I am planning on visiting that spot where I once spent 18 months of my life. I need your help. I can't find any info on the internet. Please help me

It is just part of the beach area at Songkhla to the south of the military base. There is a large hotel to the north of the base that you may stay at.

Songkhla, and the nearby town of Haadyai, is an acceptable area, but I always tell people, especially females, not to go to Southern Thailand. It is a dangerous area due to (a) Muslim Insurgents and fighting (b) Smugglers (c) Large Prostitution, s*x-Slave and people smuggling area (d) Robberies and murders are common in the area.

According to me, you will have to go onsite for your quest... it is 20 years later... and ask eldery people.
