Question:

Songs for dealing with the drama of quitting drugs and alcohol?

I've seen a few of these on here being asked and answered but I wanted to make a little bit more of a detailed question.

Recently I've quit using heroin and also alcohol. Throughout my life I've done pretty much any drug that was around... So I guess you could say I was a junkie.

What I wanna know is there any one that can tell me some good motivational songs for quitting drugs by newer bands. Like indie or screamo/emo type music. I like other songs too but I'd really like to find some songs that are either acoustic or include pianos, or if possible both! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Cori

  1. since you're listening to the screamo i take it you're still young. heroine is NEVER good and noone should do that Sh#@$%, thats wack bro. as far as drinking, be social with it and dont do anything stupid. just at parties and stuff. but anyways, for the question..umm, semi charmed life would work, thats a good song. or get ****** up by saves the day. maybe not.

  2. John Lennon - cold turkey   is a good song.

Underworld - dark and long   has that withdrawal type feel to it to me. there are no lyrics though.

A lot of grunge music like nirvana has that 'heroin feel' to it.

I don't think there is any screamo music about drugs/quitting them. But I don't know for sure.

  3. "Semi-Charmed Life" by Third Eye Blind, but it's kind of more about cocaine.
