Question:

Songs for four year old child to dance to in ballet?

My sister and I went to a mommy&me class, but now at four, she's a bit to old for it and it doesn't fit into our time frame anymore. I've decided since I dance ballet in an adult class as well, that I would teach her myself. [less expensive] Are there any good CD'S I could get for her to dance to? Also, do you think it would be appropriate if I asked to buy a copy of the songs they use in the mommy&me class? They were GREAT. Thanks for your help!

  1. Elite - Deftones

  2. maybe some instrumental versons of classic songs such as london bridge or row row row stuff like tthat or even instrmental versions of yur favorite songs (not pop or rock) like yellow by coldplay or fix you

  3. Greg and Steve have some great songs for kid dances and movement activities - not necessarily ballet, but creative movement is more appropriate than formal ballet instruction for children under 5 anyways.  Raffi also has great children's music.  You might also look at some classic musicians like Frank Sinatra - they often have fun music that is appropriate for children.

A great children's ballet instruction CD is A Fantasy Garden Ballet Class.  There's even a video available to go with it to help you teach it.  Check amazon.com - I'm almost positive they have it.

I would say it would be fine if you asked to buy a copy of the mommy and me CD's.  The only reason they probably wouldn't let you have a copy is if it was developed by the studio for use solely at their studio.

    Good luck!

  4. I wanna s*x you up by color me badd

Knockin' da boots by H-town would be a really good one.

  11. i think thats a great i dea teaching her, but if you want her to excel in dancing, you should probably let teachers at a studio lend a hand. i really do think thats a great idea, and here are some songs i think would work out:

Tale as Old as Time - Beauty and the Beast

Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Wizard of Oz

    Maybe - Annie

A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes - Cinderella

    Amazing Grace

& little kid songs, it doesnt hhave to be slow music, just fun, and have ballet moves in it.

  12. all the disney soundtracks are great they use those at my studio... like aladdin and beauty and the beast and songs from other various disney movies...(the classic ones of course)

im sure they wouldnt mind if u bought a copy :)
