Songs/movies/books depicting struggling artists?

Hi. I need to find songs/albums or movies or books/short stories depicting struggling artists, or an artist's attempt at achieving success with their art.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm with you on the Trapped Doors suggestion, but I'm biased because I wrote it. My second novel, Defending Infinity, also deals with bohemian lives and the artist's psyche. Thanks for the recommendation and hope you get a chance read it.

I will add a book to the list that I've just begun reading - The Savage Detectives by Chilean writer Roberto Bolano. Pretty good so far...
