Sonic Americas Drive-in?

I live in San Diego

they advertise Sonic in commercials here but the closest one to where i live is over 80 miles away.....

so when i went to Las Vegas with my family i ate there as much as i could

my question is Why do they advertise here when i cant go there (without driving so far)

Part of it is that cable companies aren't as specific in their areas as local stations. Another part of it is that Sonic is trying to build up a "fan base" in your area. They do surveys to see how many people would eat there if they built one in that area. It's done all over the country with many different restaurants. They also have to get the rights to move into your area by many different agencies so they could be working on it and just "sweetening the pot" when they do finally get to move in there.

I lived in Alaska and they advertised for a DQ but the DQ was more than 3 hours away from Anchorage...where I happened to live. Another thing they do is Advertise for Pizza Hut's lower 48 prices when Alaska marks theirs up 3 or more dollars on each menu item. Weird I know, But I am sure it's to intise you to eat at such places when you are near and have the choice.

it's how they promote the restaurants by location,for instance i live in northern California here there is 7 sonics but they aren't for about 40 miles,then i flipped when i saw they were buliding one in my city

idk but it is the same way where i  live ,they advertise but u have to drive like 1 hour to get there...they probably think if u want it bad enough you'll just go get it no matter how far

Part of advertising away from the immediate area of the Sonic is so if you ever do travel away and you see a Sonic, you'll think back and say, "Hey, I remember a commercial for this. I should check it out!"

Other than that, I don't know any other reason. =)

b/c with cable television, the ads are going out to markets all over the country. so some markets may get the comericals but not have the stores. it happens all the time. i used to get Sonic commericals but had no Sonic anywhere near me. then i moved and now i have about 3 with in 10 minutes to me. but we get commericals for A&W and there are none in my area.
