Sonic video editing software?

this video editing software came bundled with a PC I bought about 2.5 years ago and it's very easy to use. but does anyone know if they have come out with a version that can work with and edit HD video with just as much ease? I've been messing around with Sony Vegas 8 and that stuff pisses me off it is so complicated, so I'm looking for something easier, yet HD-capable. thanks....
