Sonny Bill Williams content with his current performance in Rugby World Cup
All Blacks centre, Sonny Bill Williams, is satisfied with his impressive performance in the Rugby World Cup 2011 and is determined to carry it on in the upcoming matches. Williams has surprised selectors with his exceptionally good work in the tournament
as he has already scored four tries in the so far played matches. He told the media on October 12 that he is amazed with his good performance at winger’s positions.
Sonny has enjoyed a fair share of starting roles due to injuries to his side. Earlier on, he was given a bench role for the whole tournament in the presence of Ma’a Nonu at number 10. He basically plays at centres’ position but the unexpected situation has
put him on winger’s which he has lead successfully.
Talking about his current form in the world showpiece, Williams said that his current presentation has stunned those critics who thought he could not play at a high level. He added that, “I think I've surprised myself how well I went on the wing. I didn't
think I could do it - some people didn't think I could play rugby, but I've shown them that I can. I'm always a confident player. If I'm put out there I know that I'll do the job as best I can and just do all the little things.”
The versatile player further added that he fully prepared to face the Wallabies at the winger’s position and will give his rivals a tough time. He dismissed the opinion that Wallabies could exploit him in his new role. He is also confident that he can be
given a starting role in the crucial match against Wallabies. He Argued that, “Hopefully I get picked and I'm involved. If I am, it's going to be great. There's nothing better than this stage, it's pretty much the whole reason I came back here to try and test
myself against the best players.”
Meanwhile, he expected a close contest when the two best sides of the world face each other in Eden Park.
