Sonny Bill Williams enjoying media hype in South Africa - Rugby updates
The All Black’s versatile Sonny Bill William is enjoying his journey in South Africa. He is relishing being on Reeboks soil along with his Super Rugby team, Crusaders, to play a couple of scheduled matches. He has been bombarded with interviews with the
local media and has been asked by various media organisations to have a chat with them.
The Crusaders have positioned themselves as the team to defeat after they stunned the local Stormers in Newlands. The Crusaders overcame the Stormers 20-14 in a Super Rugby match played last weekend.
Williams and the Crusaders have made a comeback in the tournament after a severe set back in the start of the Super Rugby championship. They were left as nomads by a devastating earthquake that hit Christchurch on February 22nd. The team did not succumb
to their circumstancs and tey are currently placed fourth overall on the point’s tables in the ongoing Super Rugby season. They have been dealt just two defeats after eleven matches. In eight outgoings they grabbed eight victories, whereas their one match
on 26th February, against the Hurricanes, was suspended due to the fatal quake.
The star player of the Crusaders, Williams, played a major role in the success of his side and he has been rightly given so much respect on the foreign soil. He has shown real character to cheer the  people of Christchurch. Sonny Bill Williams is also a
boxer and has announced a fight for his native city before the largest event of this year, the Rugby World Cup. The extravaganza is scheduled for September, in New Zealand.
The Crusaders coach also appreciated his player and said that he has done an awesome job in the team. He added, “Sonny did provide some special moments. There is no doubt that he is a quality player. He really is, and we’ve got a lot of quality players.
I felt, and so did Sonny, that there had been a lot of media attention. As we drove in here, the whole crowd were chanting his name outside the bus.”
The Crusaders will take on the Cheetahs in their next Super Rugby clash on 14th May.
