  1. Of course! but it will reveal a lot of nuances in DVD like indistinct voices outside of the scene. Not only that you will FEEL the bass especially when watching horror movies. The bass of these can extend beyond many headphone including very expensive ones. If your a bass lover, you might get dissapointed because although it has deep bass, it's not too strong, and boomy like cheap ones. The bass is balanced with midrange and high. I don't recommend this when watching broadcast TV show because it will honestly show compression artifacts. As a rule of thumb, great source (DVD, original music cds, lossless files) + great phones = great sound; bad source (broadcast TV shows, mp3, lossy files) + great headphones = bad sound
