I have had my Sony LCD Flatscreen for barely over a year now (didn't get the extended warranty because I figured...this much for a t.v., it should last at least 5 years) now I'm screwed. I tried to turn it on the other day and there was no picture. I immediately thought it was my satellite system, but it wasn't. I just tried to turn on the t.v. without anything else and the menu wouldn't even come up. After a couple of minutes the blank black screen that it shows at first turns to a solid bright green.
If the satellite or anything else is on you can hear the sound, but the picture will not display. I called Sony and they guided me through some troubleshooting tips, but nothing worked. They said it would have to be repaired.
After looking on this site for a while I have seen similar problems, but couldn't find an exact issue with this t.v. I'm guessing the lamp is bad and needs to be replaced.
Does this sound like the lamp? And if so, where would it be located and how can I replace it?
Thanks in advance!
Christian
