Sony Bravia Tv Question?

i bought a tv about 2 months and i just started noticing a low humming noise coming from the back of the television. i didnt know if this is normal or if it wasen't. also, there is a little red spot on my screen about the size of a pin point. also tell me what this could be. if this is a burnt pixel, are they normal and common. thanks

  1. The humming is your power supply. The Sony XBRs have been known to have noisy fans & humming power supplies. The little red spec is a dead LCD pixel. Get use to this as pixels can and do die as an LCD TV ages. The random pattern of dead pixels on my LCD PC monitor lets me uniquely identify my monitor from any other monitor in the world. You will be able to do the same with your XBR. Take a photo of your screen with the dead pixels and give it to your insurance company. The police can use the pattern of dead pixels like a thumb print to ID your TV in any possible, future theft recovery.
