Question:

Sony CCD-TRV66 Repair?

The head on my ccd-trv66 camcorder has worn out. I need to replace it. However, apparently there aren't any shops here in london who sell spare parts, and one lady I spoke to didn't even know what a head was! There was a product called camcroder Sensor/Holder.....is there any chance that this might be a head?? Unfortunately, there weren't any pictures available.

Thanks.

  1. You probably have to send it in to Sony to have it repaired. Check the Sony support site for your camera model for further instructions. You may find that buying a new camera will be viable option versus the cost of repair. Good luck!!

  2. No no no, a head is a head (well, you replace the whole drum), not a sensor/holder. You need to call Sony. And yes, it might cost more than a new camera.

Have you tried using a cleaning tape?
