Sony CD-R Question Help!!!!!! ?

Question

When I put a blank Sony CD-R into my Sony RCD-W10 CD Recorder, it tells me it's a Data Disk and won't record.

Why?

The maual says that CD-R and CD-RW discs are the only CDs it will accept.

What should I do?
