Sony Camera importing question...?

listen, my friend doesn't have a camera, and I said I'll let her borrow it . Only problem is that she has a macbook, and my camera is a Sony DCR-TRV 730 from the year 2001. I was wondering if it's even possible importing over onto the mac. I'd think you'd have to install drivers and whatnot. However I do have the firewire, but still. Help me..

  1. The Sony DCR-TRV730 is a Digital8 camcorder. It has a 4-pin DV port.

No special drivers required. You need a 4-pin to 6-pin firewire (i.Link, IEEE1394) cable to connect the camcorder's DV port to the Mac's firewire400 port.

The camcorder needs to be on - and in "Play" mode... iMovie can import from there.
