Sony Car Stereo CDXGT32W- what does iPod adaptor support actually mean?

I was looking at this car stereo system on-line at Wal-Mart.com and this model is ten dollars more than the Sony CDXGT22W, and the only difference I could find was the "iPod adaptor support". What is that? Would I have to buy something more to play my iPod on the stereo, or could I do that as the stereo is? I couldn't find anymore information on the site or anywhere else. Please clarify, especially if you have one!

you will have to purchase a ipod cable from sony or whichever brand your picking the unit and just click in the ipod to cable to play through it

cable cost - 20-30$

ipod compatible means it will play music through ipod if connected
