Sony Cyber-shot T200 can't read images from a different camera?

Our older Cyber-shot camera had the CCD chip go out, so we decided to buy a new one. It's a Cyber-shot T200. Upon inserting the (salvaged) memory stick from my old camera, I get the message that no images were found, which was odd because I had about 100 pictures on the memory stick to begin with. I plugged the camera into the computer, and the computer was able to read everything; the images were all there and perfectly fine, which was weird. Basically, my camera can't read pictures that were taken on the older camera. I don't see why; they're in JPEG format and are 5 megapixels large.

So throughout the course of a couple days, I was snapping some photos, which COULD be read by the camera. Today, I needed to move those photos to a different folder (102MDSCF) and the only way to do it was on my computer. I did that, and when I changed the folder on my camera to 102MDSCF, the images didn't show up. I tried moving them back to 101MDSCF, and they still couldn't be read. ...What?

  1. A couple of reasons I can think of:

Different camera places files into differently named folder(s).

And one camera's files (even if they're in JPG), may not be read by another. (Tried that with mine).

Best to read / view them with your computer.
