Sony Cyber shot digital camera help?

Question

I have a sony cyber shot camera and I haven't used it in a while, and when I turn it on the screen is just black. I can push menu and view the pictures I have already taken and I can take a picture and view it, but I can't see what I am taking a picture of. Do you have any ideas what could be wrong with it, and how I can fix it? Thanks for your help.

check the lens...for smudges or check the battery adn memory card...also see if the camera lens is scratched or damaged

It would help to clean the battery and camera electrical contacts as shown at the link below.

You may also want to remove the battery power for at least one minute to allow the camera  to reset or restore.

It would help to remove additional memory to eliminate this as a possible problem.
