Sony CyberShot DSC-P200 Won't Capture Images?

First off, this camera is in good condition, and it has never been dropped or gotten wet. Until recently it has been working just fine, but now whenever I press the shutter button it acts like its focusing then does nothing. Can anyone help me?

  1. Sounds like the focus mechanism won't get a lock.

Are you taking pics in low light?

  2. there could be any number of issues here. If the conditions are too dark (low lighting, etcetera), the camera may have issues focusing and therefore will not take a photo. If the camera is just slowly getting on in age, sometimes the focusing mechanism does have issues and is not able to properly focus.

I would recommend taking it to your local camera repair center to have it looked at, so you can figure out whether it's a setting that's been turned on (for example, in the newest of Sony cameras, one setting refuses to take a photo until there is a clear smile present) or something that has managed to go wrong.

Hope that helps you out some eh?
