I have several cameras that I have been refurbishing and reselling. I recently have attempted to refurbish one that had an error code E:91:01 with no flash function. I replaced the flash board and re-initialized the camera. The code persisted. I then replaced the main board and re-initialized the camera. Still got code. Replaced the ribbon connectors between the boards, no improvement. Returned all cannibalized parts to original cameras, code has now migrated to previously known-good cameras. There is obviously a procedure for resetting this code that is needed when the flash board is disconnected from the main board. I discharged the flash capacitor as directed in the Sony Level 2 Manual for this model with a 1Kohm/1W resistor for 10 seconds before disassembly. When I re-initialize, the screen shows a flash icon with an orange flashing indicator that lingers for a while then beeps repeatedly before disappearing. The camera will work fine except there is no flash function. It shows the same indicator and symptoms after re-initializing with no flash board installed, suggesting that the flash circuit is not even being recognized when installed.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
