Sony Cybershot or Canon Powershot, which to buy?

First pay check, spending it on a camera.

Which is better? Pros and Cons?

I've only owned Cybershots and they have worked good for me. I'm not a professional photographer but it seems like a pretty  good camera. My friend works at Ritz Camera and he said i had a pretty good camera. Hope that helps.

My dad has a Canon Powershot which worked well for him simple easy to use. But my friend had a Sony Cybershot and it has some other complicated features which for a budding photographer might be more appealing. Check the specs and figure out what you really need in a camera.

What do you have now?

If you already have SD or SDHC memory cards, then the Sony is out.  They use a proprietary memory card called Memory Sticks.

Canon, Casio, Nikon, Panasonic and Pentax all use SD memory cards.
