Sony DA555ES Receiver Problem. Please help if you can!?

Hi, I have a Sony STR-DA555ES receiver and lately, it's been working just fine, with the exception of it sometimes losing sound while I'm watching a movie. Yet, until yesterday, as I tried to turn on the receiver, it wouldn't come on. I've already unplugged it and waited an hour before plugging it back in, but it just won't come on. How can I solve this problem?

follow some steps to isolate the problem...  verify that the master on/off switch is on as some receivers have one located on the bottom or rear of the unit.(Note: there are occasionally 2 power buttons, one is a master that cuts power to the unit and the other is a standby button that merely turns the units functions off)....try unplugging it and plugging it into another out let of your house. if it works then change the receivers outlet. if not then there may be a power cable issue. if thats the case contact tech support for replacement information.
