  1. i have encountered the same problem in the past and the reason for this is the video you filmed is corrupted.i'm not really sure if this is because of the dv disk is dirty or have smudges on it while you're capturing or the disk have scratches on it.or the camera experienced excessive vibration while you are finishing/closing  what you have captured.

just try to salvage your captured video by bringing it to a video editing shop and they will just record your video while playing the video in your handycam.

    hope this helps..

  2. Try Sony support, they have online tutorials & live help is available. See the link below>>>>

  3. If you have a mini dvd camcorder….

You will have to finalize your dvd in the camera and then put the dvd in your computer 's DVD burner (top loading only) and then you will have to convert the files (i downloaded handbrake file converter free) and import them into your editing program. Use the HELP feature in your editing program to learn about editing. Once you are ready to burn, your project will be burned to a different DVD and you can file the original away.

  4. What software and cables are you using to connect? If you just need the video on a tape, use the cable that came with your camera, and hook it up to your vcr, then record onto vhs, old style, but it'll be 100% problem free.

  5. reinstall your handycam drivers in pc.

  6. use the menu option 3 - 4
