Sony DCR SR45 doesnt play sound on PC?

After using the software that came with camcorder, and moving the videos onto my PC, the sound was playing fine. I tried using WMM to edit and clip together the segments with my own music. WMM gave me an unknown error and had to shut down when I tried to drag and drop the first segment into the space I wanted it. Since then, no movie that I have taken off of the camcorder plays sound. My PC is updated w/ recent codex (no updates found) and software is up to date. How can i get the sound back.

Does it play sound on your TV?? Or is it just the PC??

WMM can't edit your videos - they're in MPEG-2.   The audio's in ac3, so I'm wondering if there's a general problem with playing that.  If you've got some DVD playing app on your PC try reinstalling it.  If that doesn't work, see what app is associated with the .ac3 file extension and try reinstalling that.
