  1. Your Answer:

You know, the camera screen is really insignificant, as the pictures are better viewed on a computer screen. as far as 8 or 10 MP pictures, these are HUGE memory eaters, and most unsuitable for emails or downloads in bulk. the advantage of using high resolution is if your are planning studio-type blowups or posters usung a plotter. most pictures taken on the lowest setting, or near lower settings offer comparable resolutions that the normal human eye cannot differentiate.

What you should be looking at is the type of smart card the camera will accept, and that storage capability, rather than the in-camera memory.

Obviously, I am butting into your business by mentioning more than you asked, but there is one more thing:

after using a compact slideout zoom lens camera over the last 5 purchases, I went to a fixed lens with digital zoom, sort of like a compact SLR type body camera. the problem with a slideout lens, is the every time you turn on or turn off the camera, you run the risk of getting a grain of dirtin the lens mechanism which has a very close tolerance mechanically. that dirt can render your camera inoperable as the lens won't function properly. Though we all wish that we could live in a laboratory clean environment, the real world, especially while out of the car walking along, or even the car seat and interior environment leads to dirt problems.

Meaning, that if nature walks and the beach or other outdoor activities are in your intended picture taking path, perhaps you too should consider a fix lens slr type digital multiplier zoom.

mine was a Fuji FinePix 700D; yours can be something else
