  1. For anyone worrying that the megapixel race was starting to run out of steam Sony  raced ahead with the 13.6 megapixel compact digital camera, the Cyber-Shot DSC W300.

The titanium-clad W300 also boasts a 2.7" LCD screen and  HDTV output.

With its ultra-hard titanium coating, the model offers a premium look and finish that is highly-resistant to scratches and messy fingerprints.

I do recommend the DSC-W300. It is packed with useful features. The internal memory is 15MB and the camera is  Memory Stick Duo / Pro Duo  compatible.

In addition to the blur-reducing effects of Super SteadyShot® optical image stabilization, the camera also has a new “extra high sensitivity” mode (up to ISO 6400 in this mode only) to help minimize blurry photos when shooting in challenging lighting conditions, such as indoors or at twilight, even without a flash.

Digital cameras do not use film but use image sensors instead, the ISO equivalent is usually given.

What ISO denotes is how sensitive the image sensor is to the amount of light present. The higher the ISO, the more sensitive the image sensor and therefore the possibility to take pictures in low-light situations.
