Sony DVP-NS77H No outout

Question

The player responds to all commands , and appears to be playing, but I can 't get output on either HDMI or standard hookup (red, white and yellow). I have done everything the manual recommends. I am trying to play into a Sony KDL-32S3000. via one of the HDMI inputs. All I get on the screen is "signal not supported". Have also tried it on an older TV set through the standard RCA plug hookup and get nothing.
