Sony Dwi Kuncoro tames Chia Hsin Wan in Men’s Singles second round at Vietnam Open Grand Prix
Sony Dwi Kuncoro, an in-form shuttler from Indonesia, put up stunning show of remarkable badminton when he played to his maximum potential and overpowered Chinese Taipei’s Chia Hsin Wan in Men’s Singles second round at Vietnam Open Grand Prix 2012 on Wednesday,
August 22, in Vietnam.
The in-form Kuncoro, who is the fifth seeded player in the main draw of the championship, was in full swing on court as he played with tremendous control and easily sent his Taipei opponent packing by ending up the fight in an emphatic fashion.
The aggressive Kuncoro displayed his full potential by playing with an aggressive speed in all areas of the court. He did not let his rival to find a good flow and easily finished off the battle in straight games with a fantastic margin on score board.
On the contrary, Chia Hsin played confused badminton as he failed to put up strong show against the power play of his Indonesian opponent and wend down to him in two sets without creating a strong impact in just 35 minutes.
In the opening set, the higher ranked Indonesian shuttler played to his best speed and remained successful in putting pressure on his opponent at the early stage.
The spirited Kuncoro was on a different level as he played with impressive control and easily set up a comfortable lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, Kuncoro continued his positive and commanding run on court as he did not drop down his speed and maintained his upper hand without facing any considerable trouble.
The Impressive Indonesian remained ahead on score board and easily winded up the opening game with a stunning 21-13 score on the board.
In the following set of this Men’s Singles battle, the spirited Kuncoro continued his progress on court in the similar fashion as he did not let his opponent to put up strong resistance while keeping the pace of the game quite fast.
The Indonesian shuttler played planned game in opening half and managed a comfortable lead on score board until the break.
After the mid-game interval, the aggressive Kuncoro continued putting up wonderful show and remained successful in winding up the set with a decent 21-17 margin on the board.
The Indonesian player easily ended up the match in straight sets with a huge margin of 21-13 and 21-17.
