Sony Erricson - "Charging alien battery"???

Question

I have a sony erricsson phone... It's not in the best of shape, cos it's been waterlogged (and rescued by heat lamps) twice and dropped 2938479 times, but the only thing that i've ever had problems with are the buttons, sometimes they can be slow. Now I just plugged it in and it said, "charging, alien battery". It's charging really slow and if stop charging it, the power bar goes completely empty. What's wrong with it? It's never happened before... what does alien battery mean?

Like the other poster said, it thinks it is charging a non-OEM battery. After having been dunked a few times, the lithium-air battery MAY be ready for replacement. Try cleaning the contacts with a clean DRY cloth, or use a pencil eraser to clean them, on both the phone and the battery. But, be ready to buy a new battery.
