Hi. Im thinking about getting a new camcorder. I currently have the HDR-UX7. I don't like how I can record for only 29 minutes on a disk. Im looking for a hybrid camcorder and possibly a hybrid plus like the Sony HDR-UX20. Is it a good camcorder? What are the pros and cons about it? Are the videos recorded have good quality? Tell me more about it.=]

  1. Well, recording full 1920x1080 HD video to 8gb won't last a whole lot longer than your current camera - even in AVCHD format.  The videos will be of less quality than miniDV, but it depends on what you want.

The good thing is that this new hybrid camcorder can save video to 3 different storage devices, so you are 'feasibly' never out of storage space.  It is a good improvement, but it may not be as much of an improvement on image quality and storage as you may want it to be.

    * You can get miniDV tape that will record up to 82 minutes at a time, and it provides a much better image than AVCHD.  You may want to look at the  Sony HDR-HC9 6MP MiniDV High Definition Handycam Camcorder + Deluxe Accessory Kit http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015CT... and you will need Panasonic AYDVM63PQ 63/42 Minute Professional Quality Mini-DV Digital Tape, 10 Pack http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ANC... or Panasonic AY DVM83PQ - Professional Quality - Mini DV tape - 10 x 83min http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BP5...
