Sony HandyCam DCR-SR42 and my Mac (Macbook)?

I bought the Sony HandyCam before my MacBook and it worked great with the HP laptop I had. Now, I can't get it to work with my Mac. My questions is:

1. I don't have an Mac installation CD with my camera... only a Windows installation CD. When I try to connect my camera to the MacBook, nothing happens.

Can you help me?

  1. The DCR-SR42 is Mac compatible. You just need another piece of free software from Apple...

    Might I suggest you go to apple.com and download/install srteamclip...

  2. The DCR-SR42 isn't compatible with the Mac!  I hope someone's going to contradict me, but I don't think you can do it.
