Sony Handycam DCR, what happens at end of tape?

At the end of the tape on a Sony Handycam DCR series mini dv camera what does the camera do?

Will it just stop playing and eventually power off from lack of input or does the camera rewind at the end of a tape?

Near the end of the tape (about 5 minutes before the end), there is an alert that flashes on the screen (flashing picture of a miniDV tape cassette.

At the end, it just stops. It will not automatically rewind.

This presumes the battery still has power. Typically, the battery included in the box will last about 20-30 minutes. If you need more time, you need to plug in to the wall or get a high capacity rechargeable battery.
