Umm, this actually isn't me.

It's actually my friend doing a project with a friend.

She has a Sony Handycam.

But she couldn't connect the cam to the computer using a USB Port.

I looked up the internet and didnt really get anything cause most of the words are written in technical language.

I found phrases such as "firewire" but didn't know what that was, so if you know what it means and how it could help, pls tell me.

Thanks

  1. To upload videos from vcam to pc, there are particular connections depending on the storage media type:

    for Hdd, - usb cable

for flash media  - usb cable or card reader

for DVD - (insert finalized dvd disk to pc dvd player)

for miniDV or digi-8 tape - firewire400 cable

a miniDV vcam must be iLink / FIREWIRE400**-connected to pc to upload video thru video capture or video editing* software while vcam is ON PLAYBACK.  Note: DV or Firewire port of vcam is 4pin. Before cable purchase** (Vcam/4pin=>firewireCABLE=>PC (4/ 6pin?), check pc for DV or firewire port, whether 4 or 6 pin. If none, install firewire card: pci for pc or pcmcia for laptop.
