Sony Handycam Mini-dv codec????

Trying to transfer my home video onto Windows movie maker but it says I am missing a codec. where can i find a codec so that I can transfer my home video on a Minidv to WMM???

  1. Are you transferring from the tape through firewire? (i.e. and not USB)

    What version of windows do you you have?  the DV codec should be in everything from at least XP movie maker on...

    Do yourself a favour, buy adobe premiere elements.  Much more scope,
