Sony Handycam Problem?

Hello, i have a sony handycam, DCR-HC36 or something to that effect, i am using DVD+RW disks and i want to start movie making and editing, i am using Windows Movie Maker and i want to everytime i press start and then stop on the camcorder i want that to appear as one seperate clip, i have a XP and Vista computer, can this be done and if so how do i do it, so to sum it up everytime i press start and stop i want this to appear as a seperate clip so that i can import it to windows movie maker,

  1. Launch MovieMaker. Go to the start of the clip you want on the camcorder. In MovieMaker, capture. When that clip is done, stop the capture... go back to the camera and fast forward to the next clip you want, Capture using MovieMaker. Stop capture when the clip you want is in... Then these separate clips will already be in the clips pane of Moviemaker and you won't have an extra step of importing - since you already did that.

    This presumes your computer has a firewire400 port. The ONLY way you are going to get that vdei from the camcorder to the computer is byt using a firewire cable (not USB) to connect the DV port of the camcorder to the firewire port of your computer.

    If your computer does not have a firewire port, then hopefully it has an appropriate expansion slot so you can add one.

    Transferring DV over USB is not supported.
