Sony Handycam vision problem?

Well i have a sony handycam vision hi8 i probably got it in 2004 and it worked fine for a whole year and know when i turn it on all i see is black its liek the lense cap is on but it isnt it only works with alot of light i have to be outside to use it. i have night light off and eveerything. I tryed alot of things like reseting it and s******g with **** in the menu and still cant find the problem. if you know anything plz post here.

Since you did not supply any camcorder model information, it is difficult to help you... but, is you camcorder model listed with this?
