MY Beloved Sony Flashes all the time. It first started last year during Hurricane Wilma. We had a power spike and when the power came back on the TV took it's sweet little time coming on. Being somewhat trifty with electronics I took the back cover off and notice the board on the back of the tube had a couple of very small areas that looked smoked. I ordered a new board and 6 weeks later (that is a story for another time)placed the board on the TV. Only to find that the picture was way out of alignment and still flashing. My wife called the local repair place the next day and $300.00 later my sony was back! Only to 2 weeks later develop a green tint on the images on the screen and an uncontrolable flashing started. I called the repair guy back and he "reshot the tube w/ a light gun???" and resurected the tv again only to have it start with the green tint again and now it just flashes every 2-3 seconds.the picture was awesome after the last reshoot while it lasted, the repair place seems to think that the tube is going but I don't buy it! It was a perfect picture before the power spike! and they had mentioned something about a chip or something in the "JUNGLE" my gut tells me that it is just one small peice that needs to be replaced not the tube. PLEASE <--- that is desperation! any insight would be grateful!
