Question:

Sony Plasma screen dead spot?

My question, I recently bought a used Sony plasma TV off of ebay. It was pretty cheap because there is a little gash on the screen and a dead spot around that area. Now I am wondering how much it would cost to repair that, if it can even be repaired. I would like to know if it can be repaired if you would know.

Thanks in advance.

  1. Once its there.

Theres nothing you can do to get rid of it unfortunately.

I have some in my laptop screen. :(

  2. Generally, the entire screen would have to be replaced and it would be cheaper to buy a new TV than pay for the installation of a new screen.  If your seller didn't mention the damage though you should be able to get your money back.  See ebay's dispute rules.

P.S.  The person who answered about their laptop screen is referring to a dead pixel in their LCD screen.  That is not uncommon.  A plasma TV is not the same as LCD and does have the same issue.
