Sony Vaio laptop help?

I cannot seem to switch my laptop on , without the aid of my charger. And once i managed to switch the power on , when I turned off the charger the whole system shut off on its own. There's an indicator on the bottom right of my screen that says "no battery is detected" , but everything is as it was before.

What seeems to be the problem?

  1. I also have the same Sony Vaio laptop and I always connect it to the charger everytime I use it. I can only use it for less than an hour if the charger is disconnected. I want to replace the battery but it cost so much and a new one can only last for two hrs fully charge ,so whats the use if there's only a small difference in usage time. In your case, you should take out your battery and test the contact terminals with a multitester set to dc volts. It should read at least 14 volts if not ,bring it to Fry's or Best Buy for further testing .

  2. Your battery probably has very little life left and i would recommend buying a new replacement battery, for your computer, online.

  3. Maybe your battery is gone ?

  4. its possible that your battery is faulty, - contact sony and have it replaced.

here's the probelem - sony laptops are NOT the greatest in the world... i LOVE sony - their products are awesome... but for some reason, their laptops suck...

ok... so if its new andall, please just take it back to sony and get your money back... and switch to an apple macbook OR if you want to have windows on your notebook.. then go buy a dell xps m1330

i have provided both links in my sources...

both of the laptops are about twice as fast as the sonys... so yeah...
