Question:

Sony Vegas Editing problem?

I am new to Sony Vegas 8 platinum and I am trying to find the easiest way to cut undesirable pieces from the the video that I capture.

I found I would need to split with "s" then figure out how to join the leftover pieces but so far I wasted time and no good results.

With my music files i use a program called Audacity and I select the part I don't want (across tracks) the "Cut" and the left over pieces gets automatically joined. No fuss.

But here it seems there is a lot of manual work for a simple thing.

So, summary easiest way to fully cut the piece of let's say 2 seconds of movie and then get the rest joined as one....

Thanks for your help...!

  1. There may be an easier way, but the best I've got is to split and cut out what you don't want with the "S" and "Delete" keys, then I go to the top of the screen and click the selection pointer so I can make a box in the timeline to select more than one clip of video (kind of like when you drag your mouse to select more than one icon on the desktop).  Then I just drag the video to line up with the previous clip.  I don't think that it moves to the left automatically like other video editing software.
