Sony Vegas pro 8?

Ok guyz, on youtube, i see great videos and they all say

PROGRAM USED: Sony Vegas pro 8

i searched for it, is there any way to download it free?What exactly is it? I don't know anything about this so please help me! Do i have to bye the actual video camera? I am going crazy ~!! HELP :)

I'm sorry to sound so snotty, but Vegas Pro isn't the right tool if you don't know anything about it.  Start with Windows Movie Maker - it's not great, but it'll get you going and you'll learn something about video editing, including what you want in an editor.  And it's free!  When you're ready, get Vegas Movie Studio - it's a cut down version of Vegas Pro, but it's still very powerful and you're not so likely to get confused by features you'll almost never use. Or, as Pon suggested, go the Adobe route with Elements and Premiere if that's your idea of intuitive.

This is a video editing/compositing program that is very professional and expensive. There are several ways to get this program for free, but they are all illegal and you risk prison time and heavy fines for using them. You do not have to buy a video camera to use Sony Vegas Pro 8.

Sony Vegas is a Non Linear Editing Program (NLE) that is used to edit footage from video or digitized film to make into a movie.  Effects can be added and multiple tracks for video and audio are available.  You need to know a bit about editing before you get the program.  You can rip it for free but it usually will install a virus into your computer and can wreak havoc on your system.  

It is only the program to be able to edit video, not the actual camera.

Its actually a terrible program for editing because it has a horrible workflow and it is not very intuitive as a program overall.  It takes a lot of looking to be able to find effects or other things you need.  I'd really recommend Adobe Premiere Elements or Premiere Pro.  It can do all the same stuff and a bit more.  Its more like other workflows for other NLE programs that are higher end like Final Cut Pro or Avid and it's more intuitive overall, you don't have to search so much for what you need.

I'd say if you're gonna get it; suck it up, save a few bucks and buy it from the store.  Both Vegas and Premiere end up being around $70-$100.
