Sony Xplod head unit wont play CDs?

Question

When I put in a CD, it "reads" it for a few seconds and then ejects it with just 'Error' on the screen.

The CDs are definately not dirty. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it etc..?

The model is CDX-R6550 if that's any help.

are the cds burnt cds then that might be why but if there not burnt take it back

The short answer is buy a new cd player.  Get one that's not a sony.  Alpine, pioneer, jvc, kenwood, nakamichi, panasonic, etc.

Sounds like cd player itself is dirty you need a lens cleaner cd.Also sony is junk try the d-bass function the d stands for distortion.4 those of you that dont know a head unit must cost at least $300.00 any less is a waste of time and $.Please learn from my mistakes.
