Both the platform developers have taken the initiative and announced that both will be holding their press conferences on the 4th of June.
E3 is the Super Bowl of the video game industry, not in the sense that it is a sporting event but rather because it is the biggest event in the industry’s calendar year, and that is not an exaggeration.
Video game developers, publishers, platform developers and anyone who is anyone in the video games industry in is in attendance showcasing the technology and the games that everyone can expect in the months to come.
In essence it basically shows what Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo will offer gamers over the next year or so in terms of exclusive games, consoles, accessories, prices and anything and everything under the sun.
One can expect a number of demos, trailers and reveals and although the hype surrounding both Microsoft and Sony unveiling their next generation of home consoles has died down since both companies denied the reports, everyone is sure to be harbouring a bit
of hope when it comes to being pleasantly surprised.
Microsoft is looking to ensure that it gets everyone’s attention by holding their Press Conference first. It is scheduled to take place at 10am Pacific Standard time, which translates to about 6pm in the United Kingdom.
However, those wanting to follow Sony’s Press Conference will have to stay up fairly late as the 6pm Pacific Standard time for their Press Conference means that it will be broadcast live at 2am in the United Kingdom.
If this year’s E3 is anything like last year’s then one can expect Ubisoft and EA to hold their Press Conferences between both Microsoft’s and Sony’s.
In terms of what one can expect in the Press Conference, well according to analysts, Sony ought to be announcing a price cut for their PlayStation 3 console and in terms of games there really isn’t much to talk about at this point.
However, when it comes to Nintendo, well so far they seem to be the highlight of the show as legendary game developer, Shigeru Miyamoto, is set to announce a number of titles for the Nintendo Wii U.
