Assassin’s Creed 2, InFamous and Uncharted make the top ten as the list throws up a few surprises but on how many of these did you record a 100-percent completion.
There is a completionist in every gamer and although some are able to suppress their desire to earn every trophy in the games they love there will always be those who dedicate their time and efforts in making sure that no stone in the game is left unturned.
For those who are still slightly confused by what a ‘Platinum’ trophy is, well it is basically an in-game trophy awarded when a player has earned all the other trophies in the game.
Now if the reader does not know what a trophy is, which we seriously doubt, it is that little pop-up that comes with a nice ‘clinky-popping’ sound at the top right corner of the screen when a gamer completes a certain task or objective.
It turns out that InFamous was a popular choice for gamers to Platinum, which has to be down to the fact that, apart from being a brilliant game, the mechanic rewarded both performing evil and good deeds so playing the game twice made sense.
Resident Evil 5 was fifth on the list and being one of the few cooperative games on the list – and by few we mean two – and although it was not true to the classic RE formula, it still kept gamers interested enough to platinum.
God of War 3 is fourth on the list and seeing how it is the only true offering of the series in the current generation of consoles, meant that fans of the series had to platinum it in order to be satisfied.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves remains one of the greatest gaming experiences in recent history and gamers did not seem to want to part with it as it finished third in the list.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was one of the easier games to platinum as its single-player campaign was relatively short and the co-op Spec Ops missions were easy enough to skim through on one’s own if they wanted.
Yet, one has to give a shout out to every gamer that went around the massive maps of Assassin’s Creed 2 and collected all the feathers as the game is the most platinum-ed title on Sony’s console.
Whether or not gamers give Revelations the same amount of devotion is something we will have to wait and see.
Other notable games on the list included Borderlands (9th) and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune (7th).
