hi

sony bravia 23 inch connected to my micro hi-fi via a RCA phone cable but only right speaker working?

is it the cable playing up or am i doing something wrong???

i have turned the speaker of the t.v. and checked the the balance settings. (i.e. its not moved all the way to the right), the hi fi is also set to the auxerially function.

make sure its connected t both speakers

I hope when you say "RCA cable" you mean one with dual (red/white) plugs. A single RCA cable is mono .. you need two for stereo.

Check the speakers are wired right.

If it's not that it could be a bad connection in the RCA cable. Try removing the connections one by one and reseat them firmly and at the same time reverse the plugs at one end and see if either both speakers now work (i.e. it was a poor connection) or if the left speaker now works (and the right doesn't), in which case it's a problem in the cable (get a new one).  If that doesn't change anything it's somewhere in the TV or the hi-fi wiring.
