Im confused. We are looking into buying a DCR-DVD610 DVD Handycam Camcorder. However it says the camcorder software is not compatible with Mac computers (Imovie). Now I was thinking that the memory stick duo it comes with can easily be read by Mac just like my psp memory card. I was also thinking the dvd that camcorder records on could be read by the mac? Im truly confused. Can anyone clarify he situation or me please?

  1. yeah its mac os compatible. having a mac ive not really come across many things that are not. if things arent mac os compatible its because it requires software. such as webcams. but all media is compatible with all computers. what that means is that the software the camcorder comes with isnt mac compatible. but if you hook it up to your computer it will come up as a removable disk just like all cameras. then you can just go in and grab the videos manually. and yeah the disks can be read also. basically the software it comes with for uploading the video and the software it comes with for video editing is only windows compatible. no big deal tho. just grab the videos manually. and as for the video editing software, anything like that you get with a camera is going to be a stripped down crappy program that doesnt do much.
